Looks awesome, going to be tricky to wash though! So many nooks and crannies, and the random orbital wont fit!

IIRC the 599 brought it back … but I also approve of buttresses spreading around the market.

I'm still waiting for these buttresses to come back.

I dunno, the Ford GT ones look kinda... ...cheap? Not well thought out? Boring? They're just... a line.

In modern super/hyper cars, from has started to follow function. The design looks cool, sure, but it allows laminar flow of air around and through the vehicle.
When you have an abrupt change in surface area at the rear of a moving vehicle (think tractor trailer) you get what's often called the parachute effect. When this occurs the turbulence produced in the wake of the vehicle actually acts like an anchor.
What modern cars are doing is reducing the size and slopes so that air moving around the vehicle is disturbed in the least possible away. This will ultimately help with top end speed as well as fuel efficiency.
All you have to do is look at the car from the top to see how that works.

That's actually the most technically advanced solution from the 3 cars.

Might be, but it really isn't working for me visually. :)

It's aerodynamics. They're trying to control the size and composition of the vehicle's wake. We've seen it work in CFD, but I'm not entirely convinced that we can prove it in the wind tunnel yet...

That vette looks so clean and elegant compared to that modern shit.

The GT takes the flying buttress and says "fuck you" and adds a flying wing and LMP1 level wheel cut outs.
